## Article

Adobe says support for Acrobat 2020 ended November 30, 2025, after an extension from June 1, 2025, and that end of support means no technical support or product security updates. Adobe recommends current Acrobat and Reader versions, and lists Acrobat Pro 2024, a 3-year term license, as its latest desktop-only, non-subscription option.

## Source facts

Adobe’s [end-of-support page for Acrobat 2020](https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/end-of-support-acrobat-2020.html), last updated January 5, 2026, says Adobe provides five years of product support from general availability and that support for Acrobat 2020 ended on November 30, 2025. It says end of support means Adobe no longer provides technical support, including product security updates, for all derivatives of a product version, including localized versions, minor upgrades and dot releases.

Adobe’s [technical support periods table](https://helpx.adobe.com/support/programs/eol-matrix.html) lists Acrobat Reader 2020 and Acrobat Standard 2020 with general availability on June 1, 2020 and end of core support on June 1, 2025, extended until November 30, 2025, and lists Acrobat Pro 2024 with core support ending July 15, 2029.

Adobe strongly recommends updating to the latest versions of Acrobat and Acrobat Reader, and says that for organizations that still require a supported desktop product, Acrobat Pro 2024, a 3-year term license, is its latest desktop-only, non-subscription version.

## Applicability

Use this for Windows and macOS computers with any Acrobat 2020 or Reader 2020 edition. Other PDF tools follow their own support policies, so check each one that handles outside documents.

## DSE recommendation

DSE recommends finding every Acrobat 2020 and Reader 2020 install and replacing it with a supported Acrobat or Reader version. Pull the list from software inventory, move users to the current Reader or a licensed Acrobat track, uninstall the 2020 versions so they cannot be launched, and track term-license expiry dates if you choose Acrobat Pro 2024.

## Verification

Re-run the software inventory a week after the change, confirm no 2020 versions remain, and confirm the new versions are receiving updates.
