## What you need to know

Agree when the visitor conversation should end and test the paired door’s effect while other receivers ring.

## Potentially affected

Applies specifically to the TD52 configuration described by Verkada. The source’s option labels and explanatory wording should be checked in the installed version; this is not a universal intercom call-state model.

## DSE recommendation

DSE recommends choosing call-ending behavior with the reception team rather than leaving it as an unexplained default.

## Article

Agree when the visitor conversation should end and test the paired door’s effect while other receivers ring.

## Source facts

The TD52 setup guide pairs an intercom to a selected Verkada-controlled door and requires receivers for call-based unlocking. It provides separate call-ending options for an intercom unlock and for a door opened while the intercom is still dialing. The latter can end outstanding dialing when someone opens the door after a Desk Station unlock. The guide also allows context cameras and configurable inputs and outputs, so the paired door and the displayed scene must be checked together.

## DSE recommendation

DSE recommends choosing call-ending behavior with the reception team rather than leaving it as an unexplained default. Identify which door event should conclude the interaction and whether staff need to keep speaking after admitting a visitor. Document the pairing and relevant sensor/input mapping before testing. Preserve an operator-readable description of what happens if one staff member unlocks while another recipient’s phone is still ringing, and train both primary and substitute reception staff.

## Verification

Use an approved visitor simulation to test unlock during conversation, unlock while dialing, and opening the paired door. Observe both the receptionist’s screen and the remaining receivers. Confirm that the configured camera shows the expected entrance and record actual call termination behavior without assuming any door opening ends every call.
