## What you need to know

Accept each recorder independently and preserve camera-to-recorder identity when building a combined management view.

## Potentially affected

Applies to the multi-NVR management workflow documented for UniFi Vantage Point. A combined management interface does not, by itself, establish that recordings are replicated between recorders or that their retention settings match.

## DSE recommendation

DSE recommends commissioning each recorder independently before building the combined operator view.

## Article

Accept each recorder independently and preserve camera-to-recorder identity when building a combined management view.

## Source facts

UniFi Vantage Point combines management of up to five NVRs in one interface. Its guide describes cross-recorder live views, playback, custom multiviews, and settings management for consoles in one facility or different locations. Vantage Points appear under the Physical Security section of Site Manager. A new console must first be set up through its own web or mobile setup workflow before it can be added to an existing Vantage Point. Adding the combined view is therefore a separate step from initial recorder setup.

## Applicability

Applies to the multi-NVR management workflow documented for UniFi Vantage Point. A combined management interface does not, by itself, establish that recordings are replicated between recorders or that their retention settings match.

## DSE recommendation

DSE recommends commissioning each recorder independently before building the combined operator view. Assign clear recorder and camera names, confirm the intended users and sites, and preserve an inventory that identifies where each camera records. Design multiviews around the operator’s task while retaining visible source identity. When making settings changes through the combined interface, review the target recorder set explicitly so a local change is not applied more broadly than intended.

## Verification

Open a camera from each enrolled recorder, verify live and historical viewing, and compare the combined inventory with each recorder’s own inventory. Test an approved limited settings change and inspect the intended target. Record any unavailable recorder separately rather than treating a partially populated multiview as proof that every recorder is healthy.
