## What you need to know

Put the site-wide consequence of a manual clearing action directly in the approved restoration procedure.

## Potentially affected

Applies to the emergency-state control behavior described for UniFi Access. The approved fire, egress, and incident procedures remain authoritative; this article does not design or certify a life-safety sequence.

## DSE recommendation

DSE recommends placing the site-level clearing consequence directly in the incident runbook.

## Article

Put the site-wide consequence of a manual clearing action directly in the approved restoration procedure.

## Source facts

UniFi Access permits manual emergency mode at site or individual-door scope. Its guide says that when a site emergency mode was activated manually, deactivating the mode for any door also deactivates the site-level mode. A fire-panel-triggered door is different: its emergency state cannot be cleared through the web app, mobile app, or reader Admin Mode. If site-wide propagation is enabled, other doors not directly triggered by the fire panel can still be treated separately as documented.

## DSE recommendation

DSE recommends placing the site-level clearing consequence directly in the incident runbook. Operators should identify whether the state came from manual activation or the fire interface before trying to restore one door. Assign a restoration coordinator and require a site-status check after any manual clearing action. Review the propagation option with the responsible safety and security owners and avoid experimenting with emergency controls during normal occupancy to discover their scope.

## Verification

During a coordinated exercise with required safety personnel, observe site and door state for the approved manual activation and restoration sequence. Confirm operators recognize a fire-input state that software cannot clear. Record the configured scope and affected doors, and obtain the designated restoration approval before returning the system to ordinary operation.
