Source facts

Verkada fisheye cameras offer panoramic, four-way split, and pan-tilt-zoom viewing modes. Site Admin permissions are needed to change the mode. The documented compatibility table says privacy regions must be configured while the fisheye is in PTZ mode; those regions then carry into panoramic and four-way views. After selecting PTZ, the guide requires setting the actual wall or ceiling mount location so digital controls behave correctly. The D80 does not support PTZ mode, so this editing path is not universal.

Applicability

Applies to Verkada fisheye models covered by the view-mode guide. Confirm the exact model’s feature table before changing an existing deployment or promising a particular analytics widget.

DSE recommendation

DSE recommends completing privacy-region editing in the supported mode before choosing the operator’s final display layout. Keep a marked scene image showing intended protected areas and check that every displayed projection respects them. Confirm the recorded mount location and set useful home positions for the operators who will use the tiles. Document the accepted layout so a later mode or mount change triggers a targeted privacy review rather than silently inheriting an unsuitable arrangement.

Verification

Using authorized non-sensitive test footage, inspect the protected area in PTZ, panoramic, and split views after configuration. Confirm that controls behave correctly for the actual mount and that users can navigate the selected layout. Record model and mode with the results rather than applying one fisheye’s behavior to all models.
