Usage and citation policy

How to cite, quote, and reuse DSE Updates while preserving source attribution and the boundary between public access and copyright permission.

Preferred citation

Identify the article title, DSE Security as the publisher, the article’s canonical URL, and the publication or last-reviewed date shown on the page. Link to the canonical DSE article rather than copying a search, filter, feed, API, or Markdown URL.

Source boundaries

DSE posts distinguish cited facts from DSE interpretation and recommendations. Preserve the named primary source when quoting a source-backed claim. Vendor documents, product names, images, and linked source material remain subject to their owners’ rights and terms.

Public access is not an open license

Unless an individual resource states otherwise, DSE Updates content remains copyrighted by Detection Systems & Engineering. Public web access, crawler access, feeds, APIs, and machine-readable alternatives do not by themselves grant permission to reproduce, republish, sell, train on, or create adaptations from the content.

Quoting and reuse

Use the minimum quotation needed, preserve context, credit DSE, retain the canonical link, and do not present DSE guidance as a manufacturer instruction or an environment-specific assessment. For republication, bulk reuse, licensing, or commercial use, contact DSE for written permission.

Corrections and verification

Use the visible modified and last-reviewed dates to assess freshness. Verify time-sensitive claims against the linked primary source. If you find a correction or attribution issue, contact DSE so the governed editorial record can be reviewed.
