Draw the actual node-to-storage and node-to-client paths and have the infrastructure owners identify shared dependencies. Record which component failures the design is intended to withstand. Keep a separate list of dependencies that remain common to both nodes. Agree on file-access acceptance criteria and a controlled failover exercise before deploying the production role.
Verification
Retain the required validation results and compare the implemented paths with the approved diagram. Test representative client file operations during the agreed node-transition exercise. Record observed interruptions and recovery time rather than assuming seamless access. Reconcile missing certification evidence, common-path risks, or failed client operations before declaring the file service ready.
