Use this distinction when reviewing Endpoint analytics’ Work from anywhere report. Confirm that the device population meets the report’s current prerequisites and separate hardware readiness from the broader remote-work metrics.

DSE recommendation

Build the upgrade decision from the readiness view, not the headline score. Ask the endpoint owner to reconcile the intended upgrade population with individual statuses and recorded blockers. Put Unknown devices into an evidence-gathering queue before labeling them capable or incapable. Review their activity and management state without deleting records merely to improve the appearance of the report. Keep any change to collection targeting separate from the hardware decision.

Verification

For representative devices, compare the report’s readiness reason with the actual approved inventory evidence and last check-in. Record unresolved or stale entries explicitly. Revisit the readiness view after the planned evidence refresh and confirm which blockers remain. Retain the remote-work score as a different measure; an improvement in that number should not be used as the acceptance result for a hardware-upgrade assessment.
