DSE recommendation

DSE recommends planning every SharePoint Server 2016 and 2019 farm’s move to SharePoint Server Subscription Edition or SharePoint Online now, and restricting access to farms that remain. Inventory sites, custom solutions, InfoPath forms and SharePoint Designer workflows that will not move as they are, assign an owner for each, and remove external publishing from old farms until they are retired.

Verification

List each farm’s version and build, track its migration status, and confirm that no DNS records, reverse proxies or firewall rules still expose a retired farm.
